Arriving at the site of Paestum the project implements a bus terminal and
underground parking, where the visitors leave their cars and continue the
exploration of the ancient site from the top of the green hill granting
immediately the view to the temple of Hera. The archaeological area will be
closed to traffic through the establishment of a peripheral ring road - leaving
the possibility to continue the excavation of this UNESCO world heritage site
where today are parking lots and souvenir shops.
Inside this ring an archaeological park is created with sustainable technology,
which leaves space to the “Macchia Mediterranea”: The original flora and
fauna capable of restoring beauty and cultural value of this important site
giving also vital input to tourism industry of the area through sustainable
structures.
