The whale's mouth / reality
This study has identified that in the Rome-Naple corridor exist numerous pockets of forgotten spaces, a boundary marked naturally from the various levels & configurations between the high & low speed railway. It is thought that these pockets of space present a vast opportunity for eco-regeneration, through landscape strategies that give little harm to the already polluted landscape, but rather to give it time to breath. However when doing so, communities & visitors are possible to participate in its regeneration. It provides a vital link between the individual villages.
At each of these pockets of space, a lodge gate present an opportunity for tourist & visitors a place to retreat & rest, as they are encouraged to visit the many true Italian smaller towns & villages before reaching the big cities as their final destinations. During their retreat, they are welcomed to use the provided facilities to work & explore the area, treasure hunting the reminisce of history and renewed energies.
